Spring Symposium Scheduled!

​Maryland Veteran's Museum, Newburg, Maryland
Registration Details Below!

​We are pleased to announce that our Spring symposium has been scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 202 at the Maryland Veteran's Museum in Newburg, Maryland!  Plan to join us at the Museum (1100 Crain Highway, Newburg, MD  20664) for a great day of Great War discussion and programming.  Renew friendships and make new ones with fellow Great War scholars, students, and enthusiasts.

WHEN:  Saturday June 7, 2025.  Sign-in, refreshments, meet-and-greet/icebreaker begin at 8:30 AM with Opening Remarks at 9:30 AM.
 
WHERE:  Maryland Veteran’s Museum, 11000 Crain Highway, Newburg, MD
 
Display Tables:  There are a limited number of display tables available for WW1 artifacts/memorabilia/books.  Please indicate on the registration form if you would like one – first come, first served.
 
Parking:  Free parking is provided on site

8:30 AM – Meet and Greet – Refreshments, Ice breaker, Book Sale and Memorabilia Display
 
9:30 AM Welcoming Remarks – Dr. Dianne Smith
 
0935 – 1030 Mr. Joseph Johnson, President, Belvoir Military History Club, Fort Belvoir, VA, THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN THE GREAT WAR.
 
10:30 – 10:45 AM – Break
 
10:45 AM – 11:20 PM –  Dr. Dianne Smith, former Assistant Professor of History, USMA, West Point, NY, FIVE STARS IN THE GREAT WAR.
 
11:20-11:30 AM Break.
 
11:30-12:00 AM  Staff of the Maryland Veteran’s Museum, MARYLAND IN WORLD WAR I (followed by self-guided tour of the museum’s World War I gallery during the lunch period)
 
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM – Lunch
